Dear collectors of Classic Mexico clients and friends.
Well, this morning I should have been in hospital recovering from my delayed, delayed operation, but as I told you last week all elective surgery has been cancelled until further notice.

Life goes on in “lockdown” here as everywhere else and we have been appalled at the extent of the USA outbreak .

As we are told here “STAY HOME”. “TEST TEST TEST”.

Get those Mexico collections out and work on them.
Nothing starting over 40$ this week so take a look if you have a limited budget.

Just 40  auction lots for you in my auction this week as follows:-

1856 issue
18 lots

Imperial Eagles
1 selection of Spiro forgeries
7 singles

1872 issue
1 pair

Foreign Mail issue
4 singles

Revolution covers
9 lots.
NZ post remains unaffected by the emergency.

General Discussion / Re: ebay, Boring???
« Last post by Bubba Bland on March 27, 2020, 04:52:19 PM »
Rodolfo,

Thank you for your reply. I want you to know that eBay is not dead and there are new collectors of Mexican material all the time. Each week I add another 2 to 6 people on my message subscription that have just bought material from me. About half of the sales are from BIN and the rest are from my weekly auction lots on eBay. It does not seem like a lot of new clients to add to the list, but over the time I have been putting out my message since Jan. 2016 the list has grown from around 400 members to over a thousand. Yes I have unsubscribes at one or two every week or so. Most have been on my list for years. So, I feel really good about our part of the stamp hobby.

I can understand you not buying from eBay, and I rarely have the time to look for material as I use to do many years past. There are good buys to be had, but it does take work. Actually, it is in auction lots that most of my new clients buy from. but then they turn to my BIN list even with the duplication of lots. They find good stamps that many, yes many collectors have overlooked. In my auction lots this week and next, I will have a lot of items that have pulled off eBay due to not selling. I have redone the lot and put in prices that are sometimes 40% less than what I had been asking before. As the old saying goes, 'You cannot eat your merchandice, so it is better to sell it even if at a loss than it is to hang onto it forever."

Have a good day and be safe in this time of peril,

Bubba

Message read. I respect his point of view and for my part I no longer give an answer for not creating any controversy. In any case, I  already have more than 6 months that I stopped of buying on ebay.  Thanks again for your reply!

Best regards my friend!

Rodolfo,

Boring as it may be, it is not what I expected or wanted to be done with my lots when I signed up with 'Webinterpret' listing all my BIN in 6 other eBay sites outside the US eBay that I have been on for years. It actually cost me more than I make most months, but I did this to reach collectors all over the world in their language and in their payment currency. It has been successful in that I have gained more new collectors that are also likely to start seeing your lots up on eBay as well. I believe that most of these duplicate listings are grouped together, so the viewer can thumb though these at a pretty fast past. As for taking up space other collector/sellers have up on eBay, do what I do and each week notify their buyers with a link that directed them to only their lots. But, this takes work on the sellers part. I send these links with my message that is going to over a thousand collectors each week. I make my message an important part of Mexican Philately, talking about subject that are interesting and fruitful for their collecting efforts.

Now talk about boring, dealers that list all their items too high priced, long list of the same thing they do not collect or put up penny lots of unimportant stamps everyone has already. I learned quickly when I first started out selling on ebay around 20 years ago. If sellers only sell stuff they do not want, no one else wants them either. If you look at my auction lots every week the stamps vary a great deal. Not all of them are expensive, but all are started out at a fair price and I tell the viewer of all the good qualities and faulty conditions if they have any. I get around 2 or 3 returns a year and mostly due to my mistakes. If the buyer does not get the item in the mail, I almost always either replace it or refund their money. This happens more when I send to Mexico than anywhere else in the world, but I know that Mexico is a good market for Mexican stamps and what I pay out in losses, is covered by the stamps and postal history they receive and love.

So, be a little more understanding of what is happening on eBay and do not judge the sellers as much as the methods eBay has.

Dear collectors of Classic Mexico clients and friends.
WHAT AWEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING GUFF:-

For me personally here in NZ a bit of a disaster.
3 Days ago I received a telephone call from the hospital where I was due to have my final operation on 1st April telling me that ALL elective surgery has been cancelled until further notice and the facilities at the various national hospitals were all being converted to ICUs.

As of midnight last night New Zealand is undergoing a Total Lockdown of all except essential services and we are instructed to STAY HOME for that period except to buy food and use essential services.
Fortunately for me (and you) The Royal Mail/NZPost is an essential service so I will be able to continue to mail out your store purchases.SO GO TAKE A LOOK at what I am offering. It depends on the various countries around the world whether your mail will continue to be delivered and this is of course beyond my control.
Here and in the UK we have, during 2 World Wars never missed a mail delivery which was scheduled.
”The mail must go through!!”.

Now that the Lockdown has been announced and is in effect and I will not be away being operated on, I can restart my auctions.
I have prepared 40 lots starting on 29th March, 50 lots starting on 5th April and 49 lots starting on  12th April.

I have heard from Schuyler Rumsey that the collections section of their “Westpex” auction has been delayed to a later date to allow collectors to inspect the lots. This will of course include my 50+ years of collecting the 1874-1883 issue !! which was to have been offered as a single lots.

I will email any further pertinent news as it comes to hand .We have a flexible situation here.
If you are locked down and at home now is a good time to get out your collections and fill some gaps!!

Zero  auction lots for you in my auction this week

I have done a whole lot of work to make it easier to find stamps in my Buy It Now store. See search criteria below, all revised.

1105  Lots in my Fixed Price/BIN store. (See link).
Of which  568  are Imperial Eagles  and a direct link follows here.

There are also amongst the other issues 257 stamps from the Foreign Mail issue. (just use the main link (below) and search for “foreign”.

For all my Buy It Now (BIN) also called fixed price lots here is the main link

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_skipfnorm=1&_nkw=&_sacat=0&_udlo=&_udhi=&_ftrt=901&_ftrv=1&_sabdlo=&_sabdhi=&_samilow=&_samihi=&_sadis=15&_stpos=&_fss=1&_fsradio=%26LH_SpecificSeller%3D1&_saslop=1&_sasl=spuffnstuff&_dmd=1&_ipg=200&_fosrp=1&LH_BIN=1&_sop=3

I have revised these to make it work better for you, especially the 1856s,1861s and the 1872s.
SEARCH CRITERIA.
To search my BIN lots I have moved the lot number to the beginning of the title line so BINs are easily discernible from auction lots.
Search in title line and/or description as follows.
Here’s what to enter in your “search” at my “spuffnstuff” store for the various issue I am listing (at present).START WITH THE RED Key words and/or UNDERLINED ONES!!
PRESTAMP, LS (lettersheet from any issue/period),1856, 1856-60 and/or, EMERALD, h 1856, k 1856, tm 1856, bw 1856, 1861, 1861-64 and/or tm 1861,
k 1861, bt 1861, bw 1861, EAGLE, MAXI, 1867, GDA PROV, 1868-9, 1868-1872,
1872, bw 1872 and/or p 1872, tm 1872, bt 1872, m 1872, FOREIGN (MAIL), NUMERALITO, 1874-1877, 1878(bottom numbers), 1878-1883, PSE (Postal Stationery Envelope), MULITAS, REVOLUTION (covers), PERFIN (Mexico), AEGEAN, CHINA, NSW (New South Wales).
To further refine your search (especially in the case of Imperial Eagles) just add the district which interests you or the word “sub”.
Remember Guanajuato MAY be GTO and Guadalajara MAY be GDA, Queretaro MAY be QTO etc. This is because of the limit on characters in the title line. I try to get as much information into the title as possible. I have used the same templates (with variations) on Turbo Lister for many years so nothing should be missed.
I hope you find something in my store.

Has anyone else experienced problems using his site? I loaded 92 items in the cart then couldn't check out. I then tried to create a new customer account but couldn't do that either. Tried calling him but line busy, made three attempts.

Probably just a glitch but if he's not currently active I'd like to know.

Stamp Shows / PIPEX 2020 URGENT NOTICE....
« Last post by Marc Gonzales on March 16, 2020, 02:26:52 PM »

Meximailers,
The MEPSI convention planned for this year was to be held in Portland in early May at PIPEX.  Due to COVID-19 I believe it is inevitable the show will be cancelled.  Although we have not received a formal cancellation notice yet I am told that once the Oregon government mandates the closure of all meetings of over 50 people then formal notification of the closure will take place.  Right now the government notice goes through March and April, once extended into May we will get a cancellation notice and I will post that here.  www.stamps.org which is the APS website has a list of cancellations already in place.  So far shows in March and April have been shut down.

Although there is still a very slim chance it will take place I suggest that no airline flights or reservations that are not refundable be made.  Thank you.
Marc E. Gonzales
