Jaime,
I found the book fairly easy to read for a non Spanish speaking person. The pictures are good and there are some great list of port actions during the late 19th Century. Maps run good to rather crude for some of the locations, but for the most parts they give enough detail that it is possible to figure out where the port may be located in relation to other towns.
Down load was over 60 MB but in the modern computer that is a very small part of the normal hard drive.
Thanks for letting us know about this interesting book.

Hi.

For those of you interested in learning a bit more about the Mexican Gulf ports during the XIX century there is a book with a lot of info. It is in PDF format and can be downloaded for free.

Thanks to Jorge Wise for the link!

It is in Spanish but the maps and tables are worth the hard drive space.
