Mike, Jesper, Meximailers,

I think the cancel is a total fabrication. The ink color appears magenta and the letters are quite irregulars and the cancel is not well struck, looks like the ones applied by rubber stamps.
Compare to the one in my Scan, used December 25, 1865 (5 days later to the cancel in question), genuine without any doubt. Please note the month inverted, seen on several stamps on my collection at the end of December 1865.
Best regards,
Manuel.

I have never seen this cancel before. The Danish stamp is from the 1864 issue and looks genuine to me.
Please let me know if you can't read this.

Correos Mexico 1865 Cancel on Danish Stamp
« Reply #1 on: March 28, 2010, 02:04:54 PM »
OK guys,

Harald Zierack has asked me about a Danish stamp with a correos Mexico cancel.

Given the date of Dic 20 1865 I am assuming this is consular mail or something of the sort.

Any help gratefully accepted
