MEPSIRREY 2010 - DECEMBER BULLETIN 10
 
This is our FINAL regular information bulletin before the show. THERE WILL BE NO FURTHER INFORMATION UNLESS THE NEED ARRISES.
 
The Museo de Historia Mexicana and our committee are working very hard to open the two month long Bicentenial Exhibition "Palabras que no se llevó el viento: DOSCIENTOS AÑOS DE CORREO EN MÉXICO" ("Words the wind did not blow away: TWO HUNDRED YEARS OF MAIL IN MEXICO") which should be open to the public in the second half of February until April 2010 as part of the year long celebration of the Bicentenial and Centenial year. MEPSIRREY 2010 is going to be a major part of the activities scheduled for this Exhibition and we have coordinated with the Museum autorities the use of their spaces for our show 18-21 March.
 
Last month we circulated the Official Schedule which remains unchanged.
 
We have ready the registration form for the REAL DE CATORCE post-convention tour, please ask for a copy to mepsirrey2010@gmail.com

The auction of LA FILATELIA MEXICANA is going to be a BIG ONE and Fernando is considering holding it on two sessions. More info in upcoming bulletins.
 
We are still waiting for the Tour Operator to finalize the pricing for the REAL DE CATORCE trip. It might take a couple of months still. At any rate, we are adopting a "No-Money-Down", "No-Cancelation-Fee" policy; so if you are interested in joing us please let me know to the emaill above and I will reserve space for you. Single (one Queen/King size bed), double, and triple (three twin size beds) are still available. All rooms with bathroom (Shower or Bathtube).

On another matter: I am sad to report the untimely death of Maria Cristina ("Cristi"), wife of our friend Pascual Ortega, Vicepresident of the Federacion Mexicana de Filatelia. Cristi was an enthusiastic philatelist herself and will be missed. They had a daughter Erika.

MEPSIRREY 2010 SEPTEMBER UPDATE
 
We are pleased to inform we will very shortly have ready (Only in Spanish I'm affraid) the forms and rules and regulations to compete in MEPSIRREY 2010.
 
I will be happy to assist anyone wanting to exhibit with the Spanish-English translation but basically the rules are the standard we have used for many years and familiar to those who have exhibited before. Let me know if you need help in this regard.
 
The prices will be SOLID SILVER COMMEMORATIVE MEPSIRREY 2010 MEDALS in the usual Bronze to Gold scale. The Special prices will include among others the coveted MEPSI GOLD MEDAL, ONE MEPSI SILVER MEDAL, ONE MEPSI BRONZE MEDAL.

MEPSIRREY 2010 AUGUST UPDATE
 
The Judgeing panel is now complete. We will have 4 Judges, as in the past we like to have representatives from all areas of the Country and one International Judge since this is an international show - Mexico North, Mexico Central-Southeast, Mexico West, MEPSI. Our thanks to the four Judges who have so generously given their talent, expertise, and time to help make our show a success.
 
Next month we will be circulating the rules and inscription forms to those interested in showing their collections in Monterrey.
 
Please check MEXICANA (July and October 2009 issues) for schedule and hotel information as well as the Real de Catorce post-evet side trip.

Sorry to all for the delay in posting this bulletin, but had some personal matters to attend.
 
The Exhibition and Show are comming along fine. We should be sending out some more precise information in September for those who wish to exhibit collections, and general info in the Oct. issue of MEXICANA.
 
The Real de Catorce side trip is generating a lot of interest and should be a great experience.

Post-Convention trip to Real de Catorce

The package will include: Transportation to and back by Executive Class bus, lodgings at two very nice B&B’s (old restored houses) for two nights at Real de Catorce (Single, double, and triple bed accommodation will be available), no meals on Sunday included, all meals on Monday included, breakfast and lunch on Tuesday included, Guided tour of Catorce on Monday morning, optional afternoon activities, Lunch at Saltillo on our way back to Monterrey on Tuesday with a guided visit to the famous “Museo del Desierto” in the afternoon. http://www.museodeldesierto.org/. Arrive in Monterrey late afternoon/early evening.

Price per person to be determined in the upcoming months.
Secure storage facilities in Monterrey during these days for excess luggage and stamp exhibits will be available upon request at no extra charge.
